Project Overview:
The primary objective with this project was to develop, from scratch, an entire tool to be used by the public on CIBC.com. The tool is a migration from a real-world pen-to-paper questionnaire that the bank uses to determine what type of investor a particular client is.
The task was to develop a tool that asks plain-language questions with a weighted list of answers. The final answers are then tallied and a rank is given based on the total number of points accumulated during the testing process. At the end, the user is then shown an accurate representation of their investing style based on their answers and given a list of options of how to go about investing in products geared towards their investing style.
The application's functionality was developed in JavaScript and effectively does exactly what it was intended to do based on the specifications. The allocated timeframe for this project was over a month but the bulk of it was created in just under a week.
Added Value:
The tool is also available in a French version and relies on the same codebase as the English, relying on a locale setting to determine which language to display.
